What to do after a career in consulting

I have been a strategy consultant for 7 years and just had my first child - I've been considering a career change for awhile now but I'm not sure exactly what type of role I would enjoy. I enjoy the variety in what I do but worry that if I take a role in a single organization's strategy department, I may get bored with the monotony (I typically am bouncing between 4 different accounts at any given time right now). The tradeoff is that I would really would like to decrease my travel (it's decreased some - from 80% to about 50%, but 50% is still incredibly overwhelming as I think about my future family). Has anyone else transitioned out of consulting? If so, what did you do?

Have you considered starting your own consulting firm and only working for local clients?
