My husband is several years younger than me (9 years, to be exact), and I'm sick of all the comments and attention our age difference gets.
We've been happily together for six years, married for two, and I have a feeling this is only going to get worse. From having to deal with all the "joking" cougar and cradle-robbing commentary from friends and family to being mistaken for his mother once (yes, that really happened — and I'm only 41!!), I am so over the scrutiny but don't see an end to it. The most obnoxious part about this is, if I was nine years younger than HIM, no one would blink an eye! Is there anything I can say to shut down the cougar comments in situations I actually have some control over, or should I just accept it's inevitable and focus on learning not to care instead?
