I have worked from home since 1993 with lots of travel. I raised four children with the help of a stay at home Dad (conveniently, also a teacher!) and I never had trouble staying on track in our hectic lives. Every morning I took the kids to school, came home and settled in for the day, nice and relaxed after having 5 whole minutes of peace on my way back home. I was always very productive during this period of my life.
Now I'm an empty-nester and I have a job where I travel less. Now I find myself lingering, drinking coffee, reviewing email on my phone, and then jumping up suddenly to get to my desk for a meeting that, most of the time that I haven't prepared for.
I guess what I am saying is I'm having a hard time staying disciplined now that I am not living by my family's schedule.
I have tried a few things but I am NOT a morning person. I have a national team that I manage so it's important I be available.
I'm in a morning rut! Any ideas from fellow non-morning ladies?
