I take on a new challenge every year. This year it’s volunteering to write the application to get a building on the national historic register. I haven’t always been a history buff and this is opening new doors and adding new people to my circle... but it’s A LOT of work!

How about yesterday and today! I am partially retired as I work part-time in one of the most fun jobs I've ever had (and the money isn't bad either :). However, we are partially remodeling and updating our older home. I work harder on my days off in the house than I ever have in my life! I'm not as young as I used to be so physical tasks take longer than they used to, not to mention I've never done this type of work before (although my spouse has), I'm always up for a challenge, and firmly believe I can do just about anything when I set my mind to it. It is such a great feeling when I complete a task, especially one that took me over a month to finish, what with the learning curve and doing it wrong a few times and then having to undo and start all over. Did I mention that I'm somewhat of a perfectionist? Thank God for YouTube videos!!!!

I love completing tasks! In fact, I love to write to-do lists because scratching off the to-do list projects are so satisfying. Hope the modeling/updating/part-time is going well!

It is moving slower than we'd like, but then so are we! But it is going surprisingly well! So far the kitchen is furthest along. just another coat on the refinished hardwood floor (had no idea that's what was under the ugly linoleum) and painting the pantry. The guest room floor is finished and it is beautiful!!! refinished the hardwood floor in there as well. Now for the molding around the baseboards or whatever its called. And this week we've started on the bathroom floor. It by far is the hardest. 4 layers of linoleum and stick on tiles over concrete. Tiles came off fairly easily but there is no easy way to get the linoleum off as it's glued to the concrete! Every youtube video i've watched ends with saying it takes a lot of muscle, patience and time. And they aren't wrong. What kinds of projects do you enjoy doing?

Retired. No interest in money but nice to have.

Although retired I work with a 98 year old female teacher. I have put many 24/7 MOMENTS in with this person. To capture her history and personal voice on all subjects has resulted in loss of personal time for me and my family responsibilities. Now she has agreed to hospice and time is truly of the essence. This is a gift for her family after she has died. It has become the most difficult page in my life but the most rewarding

When I joined a new company in 2018, I had to learn a new industry, new tools, new customers, etc. I was hired for one role, but it’s a small company and we all wear many hats, so I’ve been accountable for items that were never discussed during the interview process. Since the day I started, there are very few days where I finish everything on my “to do” list. So my answer would be "every day". I laugh with my husband that I’m older than I’ve ever been and working harder while making less than I have in twenty years.

What a fantastic question! I just put together a research proposal to identify microaggressions in the classroom. It was heart and soul work, for sure, but it will be worth it!

For the past two years, I've been writing/creating, "Everyday Vacay-- How to Beat Ennui and Conquer the Dark Side of Having it all," which is a nine chapter video integrated eBook designed to help working mothers live with purpose, passion, and perseverance. I taught these skills as a college professor for 11 years and am now bringing that love and experience to a cyber classroom environment. I launch in February, so I am nearing the end of the beginning :)
