I hate it! I have been looking for a new role for over a year and a half now in the field that I want to be in. I have been in more final round interviews I can count, the managers seem excited, follow up appropriately only to receive either:
1) Being Ghosted by the Recruiter
2) A Canned Auto Reply from their ATS saying they went with someone else and when I follow up thanking them and also asking for feedback - nothing!
3) Told the role has been put on hold.
4) Receive (while most seem compassionate) a call from the recruiter stating that they went with the other candidate I was competing against. Again, when I ask for feedback or what skill I might need to increase my knowledge in, it is the sound of crickets or the there is nothing...
Ughhhhh....I feel as though ageism, being too specific in my STAR Method responses are hindering my ability to be offered a role. I am severely underpaid in my current role (try over $25K in the current market) and submitted a Market Rate Adjustment request back in August - over 5 months ago!! Every few weeks I ask for an update and while my manager says it is valid, it is solely up to being approved by global. I am not sure how much more I can take. I am a single income family so I can't just quit.
Help! Any words of encouragement? Ideas? Thoughts of what I should do differently? There are so many thoughts on what your resume is supposed to look like, whether to include a cover letter, etc.
