If you didn’t need to work for income, what would you do with your time?

So a colleague of mine asked me this and at first I wasn't sure. First, I would travel the world. It's on my bucket list to see every town/city I possibly because I think it's incredibly eye-opening and humbling. It makes me appreciate the life that I have but it also exposes me to situations where I want to help and serve a bigger purpose. What would you do?

I would go back to school and travel. I’ve never been to NOLA so I would start there. I love writing and used to write a lot when I was younger. I would start again.

I would travel the world, visiting ancient megalith sites. Then I would start a tiny house women's shelter here in Texas, with a goal of setting up like communities in every US state that has women-unfriendly laws. Potentially going global.

I would LOVE to travel, but also I spend a lot of my free time volunteering as the artistic director of my local community theatre and direct and perform when I can. If I didn't need income I would spend a lot more time on those projects.

This question is the same question many retirees ask who had planned well financially for their retirement. What will they do now that they are financially set? First, ask yourself what else are interested in, are there areas in your community you would like to get involved with as a volunteer? Are you looking for volunteer work or a part-time position just to fill some time? If part-time, then raises all types of questions such as how many hours, what type of business, the line of work you are willing to do, how much training if any will be required, You have the world in the palm of your hand. You are financially well but time rich and you want to spend it. Think what it must be like as a small child with a $5 bill in their hand standing in a candy store and they are told they can have anything and as much of anything they want but can only spend the $5 they have. Hard for the child isn't it? You are in a similar position, You have money in your pocket, standing at the entrance of the working world that you have not seen in a long time and now you get to pick a job out of all the ones you qualify for. Which do you pick? Hard isn't it. Take the time and examine what you like, good at and perhaps if you didn't do what you had done, what you would have done instead.

I would call Bingo numbers at the area nursing homes. I love old people.

Great question! I would travel the world and eat! I would also focus on writing more and helping those in my community with building their careers.
