About three months ago I accepted a front desk/assistant position at a UX and visual design company. In those three months I began managing our Instagram account, accepting more responsibility, planning our weekly studio happy hours, etc.
I was brought on as a part-time contracted employee for six months with the potential to become a permanent employee. In March, those six months will have elapsed and I presume there will be a meeting in which my permanence with the company will be decided.
I have a few questions if there is anyone who can give me some insight:
- Is it common for contracted employees to gain permanence within a company?
- How do I let them know that I absolutely want to stay with the company?
- With that, how do I let them know that I would like to become not only a permanent employee, but also a full time employee (at my office, I am the only pt and hourly employee so I do not receive the benefits that my other co-workers have such as PTO, sick days, vacation days, health insurance, etc)?
