Get my foot in the door without a degree

I have proven ability running a laboratory. My training was all on the job at a locally owned lab that I worked at for 24 yrs. I currently am managing a Dr office lab successfully- proven by near perfect state inspections over the last 5 yrs. time to relocate near the grandkids and desire working for a large company to utilize my skill and knowledge but I don’t have a degree. How do I get my resume past the college kid in HR. who can’t see past the formal education and appreciate the hands on experience I have?

24 years of experience definitely carries more weight than a degree. Definitely add some provable metrics to that resume as well - those 5 years of perfect inspections definitely count for something, but are there other numbers you can tie to your experience?

I was going to start my comment with "NETWORK" too but then saw Ruzanas comment. She is 100% right. Meet people and put yourself in front of the resume takers. I don't have a degree and I am often asked to teach college classes as a guest lecturer. You've got this.

Network!!! Most resumes now aren't even screened by college kids rather a computer software. I am a huge proponent of networking, because through talking to somebody you might get your resume into the hands of a hiring manager without ever applying online. LinkedIn is great at helping you figure out who is in your network and how they can introduce you to somebody in places you are interested in. Good luck!
