I can get like this too but have found my symptoms have changed in the last few months as I've been more aware of them & try to the following things. When it comes to activities either work or personal that take a lot of energy I try to do them either the days before my PMS or a couple days after my cycle starts. I try to get as much rest as possible as our energy levels go down. I also do a lot of self reflection by journaling my feelings & thoughts. I go for walks, cuddle with my dog & take naps to re-energize. I have a friend who also happens to be my coworker who I know I can contact if I'm having a rough day or feeling emotional. And she knows she can count on me too; make sure you have someone like this. But do know if they are not available you have this community as well :)

Taking a daily B-complex vitamin works wonders. I used to get almost psychotic but cured it. Same for my sister and some of my friends.

I suffer from PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and I get extremely depressed in the days leading up to my period. I am nearing 40 years old and have heard this is common during this age. I do take medication for this but what REALLY helps is significant diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. I try to eliminate alcohol, caffeine and sugar during those days and make sure I get sufficient rest and exercise. Just know that you're not alone (and you're not crazy). Be kind to yourself and talk to a close friend. Believe it or not, it is sometimes good to feel those intense emotions and dive deep into why things trigger you and how to cope. Also, someone mentioned to me that for some women this completely goes away during menopause. So we have that to look forward to! Hang in there! :-)
