After an especially good weekend, how do you motivate yourself to get back into the work week?

Work hard, play harder. After a great weekend, it's tough thinking about going to work but hopefully you have time to treat yourself on your off days. If you enjoy your job, you should also be motivated about the work you're doing and excited for what's to come.

Hey Carly! Here are my two cents: remind yourself this won't be the only great weekend, and create plans to have additional wonderful weekends so you can look forward to them! And, make sure your job is one you like, so going back to work isn't miserable. If Mondays suck for you on a regular basis, it might be time to consider a career shift (whether that's taking on a new project, asking for a transfer to a new department, or trying out a whole new industry).

It starts with your Sunday night! If I go straight from a Sunday where I've spent my night out of the house doing something social, I find it's easy to feel a little ungrounded (and therefore unmotivated) on Monday morning. I'm a staunch supporter of Sunday night routines!

A good weekend makes me more positive going into work! I also try not to work late and leave a little early to help me ease back in!

I start my Monday's off with a morning workout before work because that always gets me pumped for the day. Once I get to work, I'll have quiet time with some coffee to write and plan out my tasks/projects for the week in my planner. It makes the week feel less daunting when I map out what's going on at work and what I have to do in a step-by-step process. A little trick I learned from an old college professor about creating your to-do lists is to list things with a verb at the beginning so instead of listing "clearance email #1" I'll write "Design clearance email #1"... "Finalize catalog layout" and so forth. It gets you in a more actionable, assertive mentality and more ready to take on your tasks. Hope this helps!

I have a white board by my desk that has a few of my favorite quotes and some that I rotate. The first thing I do just about every day is sit down and take a look at that board. That gets me going. "Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion, you must set yourself on fire first." "Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear." "You can't change culture if you never try." "Not all girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Some girls are made of adventure, fine beer, brains and no fear." "Let's teach girls to be brave, not perfect." "You will encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated." "A successful woman is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at her" These are the ones for me this week.

I always try to end one day with a prioritized "to do" list for the next working day. That way I don't forget anything and I can hit the ground running. Of course, starting the day with a quick review of FGB is another good way to start the day. ;-)

On Mondays, I always treat myself to a cup of coffee from my favorite shop. While this is an end of the week mentality for many, it's my go-to routine for starting off on the right foot.
