Over the past year my Instagram discover page has targeted me with food—restaurants, healthy recipes, not healthy recipes, and the common "Weight Gain vs. Weight Loss" images. I have always been pretty conscious about what I eat; my groceries consist of produce and fresh items, I try not to eat processed foods, and I try to keep a balanced diet. I have stuied these Instagram "health" suggestions, and I find them to feel extremely toxic. Every person is different, and therefore I believe that no image on Instagram is going to help anyone lose weight or obtain their body goals. I find myself analyzing the photos, wondering if I am doing something wrong, or how it's possible that eating just that little bit less of meat could help when I'm also being told that more protein is a good thing. This over-obsession is not healthy in the slightest, and as I said before not every person has the same body type. Do you feel that some Instagram photos claiming to be the "right way to eat" actually are just promoting unhealthy eating habits? In my opinion, as long as you are on a path that is right for YOU and your goals, you should ignore these images and keep doing you.
