Returning to Workforce

I quit my job over two years ago and decided to focus on getting my master's degree. Now, that I have it, I am having a hard time landing a job in the field of my degree or just getting a job period. I think I may have applied to over 100 jobs since January 2019. I have received some phone interviews, but more no's than I can deal with.

QA is a good position to enter. Have you considered a contracting firm? Check out this website for a list of leading out-sourcing companies that might be hiring. A contract position can frequently lead to FT employment. https://clutch.co/developers/testing/leaders-matrix

What type of role are you seeking? Do you have a great LinkedIn profile? Are you subscribing to jobs at different sites? Are you customizing your resume for each job application? Is your chosen profession something you can do remotely?

Hi LadyPele, I am pretty much looking for an entry level role into the ed tech field because I have a degree, but no real world experience. I don't mind starting entry level as a way to transition in. My ideal role would be to do quality assurance for distance education/online or live courses/trainings. I do have a LinkedIn profile that I think is pretty good. I've subscribed to multiple job sites including notifications of job opportunities from all. I actually stopped customizing for each, but focused on the cover letter for that. The professional can definitely be done remotely. Something that I have been looking into as well.

Hi Logan, I am actually looking for advice and support at the same time. I think I am just feeling a little defeated. I do not want to go backwards in my job search in regards to title and responsibilities, but find myself going there.

Hello! How can the FGB community support you? I have all sorts of questions as I read your post, but am not clear on what you are looking for: support, advice...?
