Humorous weight loss

While recovering from illness this week, my friends and I had a great icky giggle over the fact no matter the diet or exercise there is weight you just won’t lose. But get hit with an illness (my case a tough bout of the flu) and the weight literally evaporates. After we finished our dark humor we wondered if anyone else has noticed this as well? To us its a very ironic can’t win for losing situation and we have also noticed with illness weight loss after recovery people tell us we look great. Which causes alot of raised eyebrows In no way are we making fun of the seriously ill either (most of us have had someone who is struggling with an existing condition)

I've noticed this as well. It's really the only "benefit" from having a stomach bug or the flu.

Interesting, I usually lose weight when I'm sick....but I find that it doesn't last because its a lot of lost muscle mass from lying around not moving much and my body just ends up making up for it later. Does that not happen to you?
