It's three months into my job search, post-layoff. I've had a grand time traveling, spending time with my family, and preparing my heart to go all-in on an opportunity.
However, I have struggled to find posted roles that sound interesting. That whisper to me saying, "give me 50 hours of your life in return for a mortgage payment and a RTR subscription."
Part of the problem is the banal world of job descriptions and the sad truth that I need to leave my chosen industry (books and publishing) for greener pastures.
So yesterday, I FINALLY found a job posting for a company that thrills me. They do cool stuff! They have a compelling answer to a complex problem! I'm excited! I write a cover letter for the gods and send it off. Bliss.
Today I see the role 'no longer accepting applications.' and that is a bummer. Anyone else struggling to get excited. Am I expecting too much?
