Parent Problems with Meal Planning

Hey parents, what are some of the problems you run into with meal planning as a parent? Having more than one mouth to feed can multiply issues!

Making ONE meal that everyone will eat. My husband wants to do the keto diet, my daughter is six, and I'm a carb-craving pregnant lady. And although my husband claims to cook half the time, he asks me what to cook! I'm tired from work and don't want to think about it. I had to sit him down last month and explain that planning what to cook is work. Our solution is to have a weekly meal planning session where we see what we've got in the pantry, plan one shopping trip, and divide meals based on our favorite family recipes. These go on our shared Google calendar. Having our daughter help prepare the meal, even in a small way, makes her excited to eat it. Still, I daydream about hiring a private chef...

I mean we can all dream right, Sara!? ;) I just LOVE how y'all make planning a priority in order for everything else to go smoothly (as much as possible) during the week. Maybe I'm partial, but I feel like you should get the upper hand as far as having final say on a what meal to cook since you 1000% need those nourishing carb-containing foods. Your hubby can figure out how to keto-fy it after haha

Yes thankfully he doesn't mind carbs in our meals - he just (tries) not to eat them!
