I was given what I call “fake maternity leave” by one of the fortune 100 companies a week before my scheduled c-section. I was told, “You are no longer reliable to our company. I heard your husband makes good money, why don’t you stay home and watch the baby so he can focus at work? But if you really want, everyone really likes you here so contact us when you are in better condition. We’ll find you something.” I am young and inexperienced and with my recent life events, my resume looks like I’m a job hopper (with less than 2 years of experience with my previous employers.) While my ego won’t let me go back to this company, I lost confidence in myself and not sure if I could get a job at such big company again. If it were you, would you go back to this company? or try to apply somewhere else even if it takes long time?
