Better ways to connect with coworkers than Happy Hour?

I'm a fan of work happy hours, but I'm an even bigger fan of connecting with my coworkers over group activities or identity discussions. What fun social activities do you participate in at work? Any company traditions worth sharing?

As others have said, trivia / games are great to connect with coworkers! I also did Escape the Room once with a new team and that was really fun as well!!

I think pot lucks are a great idea too! While you eat you can answer 'conversation starter' questions that let you learn more about your coworkers in a fun way.

Pot lucks can be fun and during work hours so people don't miss out on family time. People can share a little more about themselves through food. Ax throwing has become trendy in may cities. It's not a strenuous sport and there is plenty of time to chat in between turns - much like bowling, but trendier at the moment.

Ahh, axing has been gaining popularity recently! And I'm always a fan of potlucks. I wonder if there are more creative ones than the usual Thanksgiving-esque type.

I recently attended a work event at an arcade and it was super fun! The office provided each person a few dollars in quarters and let us run amok. I'm also a big fan of bar trivia (Geeks Who Drink, etc). I've never done it with coworkers, but it's a great activity when you're meeting up with "new" friends where the conversation may stall a little bit because the trivia gives you so much to talk about.

An arcade sounds super cute! It can even be a barcade for those who still want to drink. I'll need to look into that Geeks Who Drink, too. Good ideas, thanks for sharing!

At my last job, we had a team volunteer opportunity once a quarter. It was a great way to get to know your co-workers outside of the office while giving back!
