Send positive vibes--new job starts tomorrow!

Hi, everyone. I'm new to the group. Just wanted to share some positive news and encourage others not to give up. I'm a full-time English professor and do a bit of tech writing on the side. It can be hard to find a part-time and/or contract position that works with my schedule (and that pays well). I was beginning to get a bit discouraged, and then I really hit LinkedIn applications pretty hard (right when I was considering working for Rover instead). Long story short, after a lengthy clearance-level background check, I'm finally starting my new gig--tomorrow. I'm confident and self-assured, but I still sometimes get a little first-day jitters. Surely I can't be the only one. I'd love to hear how you prep and get in the zone to make a great first impression.

Hi, everyone! Thanks for the positive vibes and support. At the moment, I'm just doing orientation type things and paperwork, but so far so good. Today I'm sitting in on an important meeting, so I'm looking forward to seeing the collaboration and getting a real feel for the place. :)
