How do I tell my manager we need another position?
It's always a stressful time in the fourth quarter but this holiday season I've come to realize that part of the stress is that we all have way too much to do in my department and it's because it's structured badly. In other words, we have roles that don't make sense, reporting lines that are leftover from a former reorg and if things were structured better in terms of roles and responsibilities, the workload would be spread out more evenly. It's a terrible mess that I think could improve drastically with a bit of restructuring and moving some jobs around. I want to make some suggestions but am afraid my co-workers will find out I"m responsible and hate me (especially those who end up taking on more work if my ideas come to fruition). Ideas on how to propose this anonymously? Or is that crazy?
