I currently work for a tech startup which I loved but now I have a hard time going through my day to day. I am a great employee who works hard and I do my best to exceed expectations. I simply feel drained of all my energy at the end of the day and regret going into work in the morning.
I say all this because I am looking for a company that I can truly shine, grow, and feel like I have a work life balance. I don't want to come home drained and I look to be able to enjoy my job. I have two companies I've applied for and there are very different from each other but I love them both and I have to make a decision. Both companies I am making it into the third/final round interview and I want to make a decision.
JOB #1 has share options, weekly team lunches, 401k, paid holidays (above US average), and salary is in my range. There is also the opportunity to travel out of the US!
JOB #2 is a brand spanking new startup with a brand new concept and a great mission. The company has less than 10 employees (tons of room for growth), pay is my range, unlimited PTO and health benefits.
Now you may be wondering what are my deal breakers? I absolutely need the pay range that I am looking for. I am trying to buy a home and in order to do so my salary needs to be at a certain range to keep the pre-qualification I have already received based off my current job. I need to have medical, dental, and vision at least offered even if it's not fully covered.
I also feel that I live in NYC and most companies already cover it I would like commuter benefits. My salary needs to reflect the cost of my current commuter benefits I receive.
I also want to mention I am getting married and will need at least two weeks and I plan on starting a family. I want to find a company that will be flexible with my growing family and life changes.
Thank you ladies in advance for your help and feedback! I really appreciate it.
