My Boss is sleeping with my co-worker and recently promoted

Over a period of two years my boss who we can call Kent having an affair with a woman, who we will call Kali. Kali is brand new to the position and was promoted for a top position. Recruiter's had to open the job posting to everyone but none where good enough. My boss make his secretary has to cover his tracks and its getting to be much. His wife will sometimes comes in to the office without warning. What would you do?

Not an easy situation to be in. It's hard to see him doing what he's doing and having the wife show up randomly. I'm sure she's on to him and just waiting to catch him in the act. Meanwhile, what do you do? Is it affecting your job or how you personally perform? Personally, I wouldn't want to work for someone who is cheating on their wife. It's not uncommon in an office environment unfortunately, but I tend to stay away from those individuals as I would be concerned about their overall character. I would more than likely be looking elsewhere so I would not have to deal with that on a daily basis.

I'm sorry this is happening and you get to see it in the office. I don't know how large your office is or whether you have a Human Resources department. Larger office environments often have an ethics hotline or other reporting process, e.g., simply dropping an anonymous letter in the mail to HR. If so, consider placing a complaint. Keep in mind, even reporting unethical behavior doesn't mean it will stop. People in powerful positions take advantage. There's nothing really "illegal" about it unless they are actually breaking the law. Doesn't mean we have to like it. You've stayed for 2 years. Maybe the job is really very good and the reporting structure is not. Maybe (just maybe) Kent and Kali really love each other and the circumstances are more complex than any of us know. Lots of sides to this coin. Ask yourself if you really like your work and are getting what you need to develop and move forward in your career. If not, consider going somewhere else.

Such a tricky situation. How did you find out your boss was cheating?

I have been seen kissing outside the office and having lunch together.
