For the love of stretch marks

I think it’s fascinating how worried and self conscious we can get about stretch marks when I’m sure many of you reading this has them too! My friends are all different shapes and sizes and they all have a mark in one place or another. I have a random stretch mark next to my lips — and I like to think it’s there because I smile so much. My inner hips definitely have them as well! I used to put cover up on my face and hide my stomach but I’ve learned to love the my random purple-pinkish spots and hope everyone here does too. FGB’ers with stretch marks, please share your thoughts!

I made it all the way through my pregnancy without them, but three weeks postpartum, I woke up with them all over my belly and was distraught. But honestly, I have stopped caring. There’s just too much other stuff to worry about and deal with. I have them on my breasts, belly, and hips. Oh well. My husband doesn’t care. I don’t care. If someone at the pool has the audacity to care, they can keep it to themselves. It’s a body. I don’t have all that much control over it. It does what I need it to (most of the time), and that has to be good enough.

I've had kids and I feel my body is a road map some days. I do feel better in bathing suits now that people are becoming more accepting that everyone is different. I'm still not a fan, but am trying to be more acceptant of myself. I'm proud (and envious at times) of the women who walk freely without a concern. I hope they continue to do this in order to help me become more comfortable in my own skin.

I also love to see more and more women walk freely. It gives me confidence!

Yes, yes! My inner thighs definitely have stretch marks! I’m all for cream but at the end of the day... I’m not mad about my marks. They kind of add a little character. Thanks for the reminder. :)
