What is an addiction?

I don't drink or smoke or binge watch TV. I do turn to fitness as a form of release and a way to let go. I absolutely love it and always want more :) My thought is, what makes something an "addiction" and can there be healthy addictions?

I think it's all about moderation! Fitness is definitely a positive "addiction," but I'm conflicted if addictions are inherently negative. Can there be too much of a good thing?
