Does anyone have any helpful tips for an early career designer applying for remote roles?

I live in an area where there is very little creative/marketing industry, and I am not really in a position to move right now. I’m a self-starter and thrive on a challenge. I have had multiple people I trust professionally edit my resume and cover letter, but I’m still not even getting a response from those I’m applying to. Should I be doing something differently than how one would apply to an in-office job? Thanks!

As a graphic designer, do you have a website you can direct people to? That way you can showcase your visual work in a creative way.

A friend of mine is a designer and she uses her instagram as a work portfolio.
