Where to start

I recently changed careers and moved half way across the country however this position is not working out and I’m struggling to get respect from my manager. It is causing my anxiety attacks to come back and I’m considering moving back home. How do I just chalk this one up to an error and abandon everything I worked hard to get right now?? Struggling to start over again so quickly. After this experience I’m looking to switch industries. Also not sure where to start.

Yes, definitely attempt to address your distress with your manager before you bail and see if they are willing to work on your relationship. Also, consider seeing a mental health professional to support you with this big change in your life that you are attempting to adjust to. It’s no small feat to leave everything behind and start from scratch. Finally, if it doesn’t work out, don’t immediately make the decision to throw the proverbial baby out with the bath water by cashing in your career for a completely new one. Consider giving yourself some time to process the upheaval and heal from the current situation before you make such a life-changing decision.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this difficult situation! I wouldn't give up without a fight. Can you speak with your manager and explain how you're feeling? It's possible they have no idea and will want to work to make you happy in your role and at the company!
