Well the angels or karma were on my side. I applied directly at Microsoft's website..no reference ...just my resume. They set up a call, questionnaire and quickly had a round of interviews set up. I didn't like it, meaning, these were all video and I think there's something to be had about shaking hands and building a relationship in person versus a lightning round of interviews. I spent 20 minutes with the hiring manager, the second woman was brutal, I don't think she looked at my resume. At the end she says, I don't think you have enough technical skills for the role...I won't go through my experience but trust me, it was more than enough. The third woman was amazing, I just adored her. So here I am, no response yet on whether or not I got the job but the kindness of the recruiter and hiring manager was pretty darn amazing. I couldn't have asked for nicer folks. The video was probably to save money, understandable and I am sure coordinating schedules was a bear. Anyone have a similar experience? I think Microsoft is a great company and they seem to value women and are big advocates of D&I. thanks for your opinions , etc.
