I'm feeling a little lost and confused and would love some input. I'm currently negotiating an offer that is almost $10k more than what I'm making now. They seem to have great perks (20 days PTO, telework option), are just starting a 401k match, all the insurances (still waiting on those details), and the office is very conveniently located. They seem to be really excited about bringing me on. I'm very capable of doing the work, but I'm not all that excited by it.
This is a full-time, direct hire position. I've been bouncing around from contract to contract and have gone through three periods of unemployment since September 2016. It's exhausting. I want stability, I want to know that my job isn't going to just end, I want to be somewhere and stay there and be done with this feeling of doom that's lurking just behind everything. My current position is through the end of September. They like me, but there's no guarantee my company will get the contract for next year- I could be out of a job on October 1 and I don't want to be there again. And I don't want to be looking for a job again a year from now if this doesn't work out.
