My favorite book. for this year and most likely will be for a very long time as one that has had a deep impact on me was "Mama's Last Hug". It is a true story of a scientist on his study of primates over a period of decades. There was one chimpanzee, name Mama that had a very special personality. She wasn't a Alpha female but all the other chimpanzees respected her because of her wisdom, and how she handle everyday life in the colony. The scientist traveled back to colony when he received word that Mama was dying. The book describes his encounter with Mama and how she reacted. He then goes into detail what life is like and so similar to ours in the colonies of chimps, gorillas, and orangutans . I personally learned so much about primates and how close we are the same. The book is an easy ready but at the same time, a moving read. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn and at the same time to relax. You will come away with respect for wild animals and very content on what you just experienced.

I love a good mystery read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn loved it, also read her Dark Places and Gone Girl. Just finished Stephen King's Doctor Sleep. I am challenging myself to read more of his books. Currently reading Misery, then on to The Stand.

I recommend reading "The Sympathizer" by Viet Thanh Nguyen. It came out a few years ago, but I couldn't put it down!
