I've been here too. Try to find ways to not allow your self confidence and worth to feel devalued. It can be tough to sell yourself (new opportunities) in parallel while working in an unsupportive environment. Don't allow your power to be undermined by an individual/group. Outline your exit strategy and keep your emo-armor on lady. You've got this!

Been there. Once I realized I hated going to work every day, I figured out what other changes I wanted to make and started looking. Ended up moving to an area where I really wanted to live with a related job in a different industry. 19 years and have never regretted the change!

I can relate to this (have posted on it myself). I think the MOST important thing is to try and have a good time outside of your work life. Granted, you might be spending all your free time looking for another job with no success. You probably hate Sunday night almost as much as Monday morning. But there are little things you can do for yourself outside of work to take care of yourself such as exercising, eating healthy, and spending time with friends/family. Try not to think about work while you are away. The worst thing you can do is isolate yourself and ruminate (as I have been guilty of doing). Remember this too shall pass and going through this might even help you appreciate a different job even more. Hang in there because you aren't alone - we are rooting for you! :-)

I can so relate to this sentiment. Consider it your push - to take a class related to your field, to go to those networking opportunities most of us hate, to brush up on some skills you haven't used in a while. Turn this toxic environment into an opportunity. I promise if you look at it that way, it WILL seem better - maybe not the first week, but for sure when that "push" pays off and you are able to quit and move on to another (hopefully better) opportunity. Hang in there, sister!

Consider a win-win philosophy on toxic people and situations. After processing the gut churning fact that it’s a toxic environment, who the players are and that you want out, consider what the beneficial outcomes could be. If you practice being kind and clear thinking at the same time, you really can shift with grace. In an upcoming interview, when they ask you to ‘describe a difficult time with a coworker and how you handled it’ you can talk about you diplomacy and tactful positivity. Discovering that you’re in a toxic environment is an opportunity to practice your inner neutrality and work your game plan, sister!

Been there! Sometimes it works out and they let you go for some odd reason and you can draw unemployment while you search jobs and other time you have to take a leap and leave! Know that it’s ok to leave. Until you find out what you want to do make a awesome cover letter and resume and test the waters! ?
