It's been 2 days since I found out I had to have a D&C and I'm devastated.

Question

My doctor told me its an outpatient procedure but I really want to take a few days off from work. Should I tell my manager what's going on? She's usually really understanding but not sure if it's worth getting into all of that when I could just say I'm sick.

I would tell her you are having a routine medical procedure and will be out for a few days recovering.  The less said, the better.
