How to Prepare to Enter the Workforce after the Pandemic

As it comes close to the bans being lifted many are preparing to either go back to work or re-enter the workforce. How you preparing to enter the workforce? Are you touching up your resume, buying a new wardrobe, working on your interview questions. And if you are heading back to work how do you expect things to be different once you go back?

I anticipate a voluntary, phased approach to return to work. We will be ensuring those returning to the office are spread out, wearing masks, and frequently wiping/disinfecting common spaces . I also don’t anticipate this occurring until at least June. Business travel is likely done for the year. In person conferences are likely cancelled until there is a vaccine.

I'm unfortunately expecting things to be much worse. I think offices are going to have to go voluntary work from home / on-site until there is a vaccine because so many people are going to feel uncomfortable going back to shared, confined spaces. I also think that businesses are going to face trouble for a long time which will make everyone feel insecure about their job.

I lost my job just as lockdowns were starting. I've been working on my resume, applying to jobs, but I don't expect the job market to open up until end of May, beginning of June. My goal is to have a job by the middle of June - of course next week would be even better ;)

Good luck! I can hear you are optimistic and I hope things work out...I hope you are able to take advantage of extended unemployment benefits after your layoff.

Thanks! I'm trying to be optimistic. My 3am brain has other ideas sometimes ;)
