Valentine’s Day traditions to start with kids??

Last year I made the heart-eyed emoji out of pancakes. The pancake is just a regular circle shape. The eyes are strawberry hearts with a blueberry-shaped smile. My kids absolutely loved it and it was so easy. I plan to make this a V-day tradition for as long as I can. Moms, any other tradition ideas?

When I was young I used to make Valentines for every kid in my class. I loved arts & crafts so I always looked forward to doing it. Your kids may do this in school already, but if not, it could be a fun project (and nice gesture!)

Thank you for posting this as it gave me the opportunity to travel down memory lane. My parents used to have a family day for Valentines with something on the day and then a day out on the closest Saturday. I remember coloring banners, using glitter and stickers to announce what we appreciated the most about each member of the family. I remember coloring my Mom giving hugs, my Dad reading us stories, and playing games with my sister. We also got to choose what food to make heart-shaped...whether pancakes, cookies, toast, etc. Great memories.

Same thoughts. So nostalgic!

I love this. Mine is actually a food tradition, too. The night before Valentine’s Day, we have a little cookie decorating party. We frost a bunch of heart cookies to give to the kid’s home room and teachers.
