How to boost your own ego.

We all have those days where you feel extremely self-conscious or just look at yourself with such a negative light. How do you practice self love? To pick yourself up and rally? I need to find a way to be kinder to myself.

A few years ago I had become violently sick with seizures and I had a very hard time along with the specialists finding out why and how to control them. I was taking so many different drugs I was always in stupor. Finally we decided to use talk therapy. The first visit I had to write down a list of everything I like about me. At the time I laughed and thought it was weird but the therapist said don't you have qualities that you are proud of? yea, I answered and he had me start mentioning them. Then I understood what I was to do. The following week I had a two page list. I read it and he said keep it and any time I feel down, or not sure of myself pull it out and read it. Then when all my sessions were done he had me do it again without looking at the first one. The second list was very different from the first. Now I read the second list and ten years later it still works. So does putting my mind to rest and not think of anything, just go through the day without planning or having to be anywhere. just be for one day. Our minds are always busy over somethings or someone. They need a break, so I turn mine off and just let the day run my actions for 24 hours. I feel so much better about myself with a good read and not thinking of anything. Try it. has been working for me all these years.

https://thebodyisnotanapology.com/ I've read the book and while there is a focus on really truly loving who you are physically, it is also about accepting all of who you are and loving all of who you are. For me, this book (and there is a lot on the website, too) was a great mindset shift for how I view myself and others. Give yourself some grace. :)

I have a self talk phrase I go to, it’s become a trigger for me to believe in my worth. And I have a best friend who I can text who will always tell me I’m awesome. Even when I tell her it’s a tough day she replies with “you’ve got this”

I question my thoughts, so then I can realize... "Wait a minute, I'm amazing so this thought is obviously not true." I also swear by reading Heart Talk by Cleo Wade. I read parts of it every week, and if I feel like I need it the whole thing. Depends on what the week is specifically bringing up for me. :)

Hi This is a very important topic very near and dear to my heart. ❤️. Take some deep breaths and give yourself an extra 15 minutes to yourself. Start with what you like about yourself and all of the good around you. Some people like to write a gratitude journal every morning(Oprah). Best of luck to you.
