Holiday work parties

These weeks in December are always so tough for me! They are busy at work, and on top of that there are lots of celebrations for both mine and my husband's work that I'm supposed to attend. Is it terrible to skip out? I feel like I can't give my kids the time they need from me - and it feels awful.

I never think its bad to skip some holiday parties. Half the time, I think most people don't really notice who attends and are just happy to have a little bubbly. That said, I also think that your kids will understand a busy spate of work for a week or two in the scheme of things...especially if they are old enough to understand that you have priorities and commitments too.

You're invited.
