Every change we want to make in the world is about creating a new habit.
Sounds simple, but if it were that easy we'd all be _________(input your desire here).
Here's a trick:
Choose what you want to change. (Ex. Drink more water)
Link an action to an existing action like waking up, showering, brushing teeth, watching TV. When you go to take a shower bring a glass of water with and drink it before the shower, after the shower while you are doing your post-shower routine.
Start small Don't expect to up your water intake from nothing to two liters.
Acknowledge the habit: Nice! Once glass of water already consumed! See, I've got this.
