Attention Hiring Managers

Hi Wonderful Ladies!! I had a really good 2nd interview (at least I think so) and the hiring managers stating they will be moving “pretty quickly” but did not give a date. My interview was 9/4/2020. Soooooo what time frame is “pretty quickly”? ?

Yes! Things are slower than usual. And you're not alone! Personal anecdote: It's been 10 months for me, and I'm still waiting. Interviewed back in Dec, positive decision in Jan, follow-up paperwork in Feb, then it was up to "very slow" HR, process usually takes >2 months (Federal Gov't job). The group that wanted to hire me reached out in April to say they are still interested, which was nice. I didn't hear back from HR until the middle of July. Apparently my application was misplaced, but would be expedited now (that's 2 months ago!). 3 weeks ago, I submitted pre-hiring paperwork. This usually only takes a week to go through. HR rep didn't respond to my check-in call or e-mail from last week. They seem swamped. But I saw my cubicle, it has my name - so it's real! At this point, I might as well write an epic poem about it, it's been long enough. :-) Anyway, good luck to you :-)

OMG!! My goodness!!! Now that’s a long time!! But I’m glad you were able to at least see your desk with your name ?. You’re right, by the time you officially start, you could write a nice poem. Good luck to you as well ?

IMO if they are moving forward with you, the recruiter reaches out within 48 hours to tell you next steps and what the timeline is. If they don't, IME, they are not moving forward. It could be a few weeks before the next interview is set up, but the recruiters keep you in the loop on the process. When they go silent your not moving on.

Thank you so much. Actually I interviewed in March and they immediately went into a hiring freeze. I really want this job. So I stayed in touch, then they called last week for the last interview. They told me they furloughed 110 people and the last 25 were coming coming back 9/8.

The hiring process always takes longer than anybody wants it to. Give it a couple of weeks at least before following up.

Hi Lakisha - not knowing the details, I can say "pretty quickly" is much slower these days. You may want to check in with the hiring manager restating your interest in the position and see what happens. In some cases job hiring was placed on hold as something came up unexpectedly,(ie: budget cuts, etc). Thats what I would do to try and keep lines of communication open. Good luck!
