My question is why have you been sitting on this offer? It is never great to quit without a notice but not illegal. It may affect a reference but how long have you been there and do you have anyone you can use as a reference if need be?
Janet Parkhurst
Dear rgstaffing,
She said 6 months--it's right in the headline! ??? As for the no notice thing? I've always been frustrated that when a company is done with YOU, they give you zero notice. But employees are supposed to give at least 2 weeks' notice. I say, if you have been treated disrespectfully, harassed or have had to put up with obvious lack of appreciation, take that new offer with both hands and just get the hell out of there. The funny thing is... there is no guarantee they'd give the poster a decent reference--even if she stayed the two weeks. We women have to put ourselves, first. A man would.
