I applied for a job on Wednesday, a couple hours before the application deadline because that's when I found the job post; not due to procrastination. I reached out to the manager on LinkedIn and sent a message saying I'd just seen the post, would love to connect, and that I knew it was due soon but appreciated a challenge. I got a blanket rejection email at 9:42pm the following Friday night. I want to ask for feedback re: my application, but every single time I have previously, the person who communicated the rejection either said no, or never replied. One person cited potential harassment from a rejected candidate as a reason not to engage in providing feedback, so I keep that context in mind. For those of you with hiring experience, do you feel comfortable interpreting the quick rejection time frame so that I can avoid making the department manager uncomfortable? To add some context of my own, I was way overqualified but the position pays way more than I make now. Thank you!!!
