I’ve been with my employer for 9 years and received an email last week about an important company update which included an audio-only zoom invitation. I hopped on the call scheduled for the next day that was lead by management — and I have no idea who else was on the call.
Essentially they said, due to company-related constraints during this time, those on this call will not be employed by us starting immediately after this call. No further details, no heads up beforehand and not much more explanation other than this.
I realize a lot of people continue to lose their jobs and I’m just shocked how this was handled so unexpectedly. I have so many questions and am debating on contacting some emails I’ve memorized, including my manager to ask for further details. What would you do? FGB community, any tips on how to bounce back?
