In the Boss's car

I am a trainee with the company. I used to come after I finished the job with my boss. He is kind and generous. I ask a lot of questions to understand the organisation more better. But yesterday I didn't ask much there is much of silence in the car. I am worried what he is gonna think and what the thought would come to him. I feel stupid.

I understand the feeling that silence is awkward. You have probably asked all the questions you needed to ask. Asking frivilous questions would be worse than silence. You are probably just fine.

He would probably rather have silence that making up stuff to fill the silence. If you really had nothing, silence was ok!

I wouldn't worry too much. I often worry about what other people think but I have realized that it is not something I can control. Why should you be responsible for all the conversation? You have the right to sometimes be tired, distracted or just not in the mood to not initiate conversation. I always think that I am responsible if there is silence and I should talk more. I get awkward and don't know what to say. Then I worry about it. Then I thought it is far more likely that the other person is fine with the silence or is blaming themselves for it than they are blaming me.
