How to address your company's looming fiscal disaster?
My company is going down the financial drain, years and years of mismanagement have led to a HUGE financial hole which will likely collapse in the next 12-24 months. I have access to a higher level of financials than many of my coworkers. It's easy to blame our downturn on COVID but that just accelerated things.
Anyway, the real reason I am looking for a job is to get out before it comes crashing down. Some of the jobs I apply for are lateral or maybe even a little below the title I have now. I don't care about titles and as long as the pay is reasonable I am willing to make the jump, The sooner the better for me. Bottom line is can I say "my current organization is facing challenges and I am looking for new opportunities" or no? I can stick with "I am looking for a change" but recruiters always point out that I am going from X role to Y role and it seems a step backward.
