I’m an International Student currently working as a Marketing Technical Manager, AI at HubSpot. Unfortunately my OPT period is about to expire in July and I did not get the H-1B lottery.
I’m currently in process of applying for EB…
I know I need more self-discipline, better focus, and a stronger mindset to really stay consistent. I’ve started making small changes, but staying motivated every day isn’t always easy, especially when progress feels slow. ( I am 21 college student about to graduate next spring in undergrad) For…
In my previous positions this was frowned upon and this was not integral. But I’ve noticed when certain individuals ask me to do something. I would want to speak with my direct superior directly first. But these persons are or have no authority and go over my head and do not give me the…
I work in a unique department at a remote company where each of us on the team have vastly different roles and responsibilities that support the department as a whole. Unlike for instance, the marketing department or social media department where each person on the…
I’m trying to get serious about building a solid financial foundation for myself, but honestly, I’m not sure where to start or what steps matter most. I want to get better at budgeting, saving, and maybe even investing down the line, but it feels overwhelming with everything else going…

Saw you replied and noted this was a vendor relationship. I would typically follow up weekly on non-urgent and daily on urgent/emergencies. Always documenting on my end that I followed up too, even if I was unsuccessful in getting an update.

What were the original expectations and due dates? Did you agree the information or work would be done by xx date? I always set that upfront when possible.
If they have not done something and there was no timeline or agreement, I'd say 2-3 days max, unless it's a huge ask/ request/ project. Send a "reminder please' and in that follow-up, set the expectation for "when may I have the information" or "I need the info by xx date, so I can then include it in my zz project/ report".
If co-workers know you have a deadline, and what you will do with the information received, they're usually more onboard with giving you the data even "early" or at least giving you a heads-up if it will be delayed for any reason.

Unfortunately, this isn't within the company that I'm communicating with. It also a company that provides our ticketing sales software/equipment. They seem to either not answer emails unless you reach out to them more than once or it takes them up to two weeks to respond. My supervisor knows the frustration and we are just trying to by some time until another company is fully ready with what services we exactly need which won't be until after the first of 2025.

Ah, a vendor type relationship. Try to get a project plan, deliverables, steps along the way, and dates for completion. Maybe a call with them to review the outstanding items and have an agreement by the end of the call on "what they will have done by when". It's challenging to pin it down, but let's everyone focus on getting down to the work. Good luck!
