This embarrassing interview mistake actually got me the job
I'm so excited to share that I recently landed a job — after I thought I had totally blown the interview! During the beginning of the interview, the hiring manager asked me what I liked to do outside of work. I was far too casual and mentioned that I hadn't been doing much but had been on social media way too much. When she looked disappointed in my answer, I realized my mistake and thought I had blown it so early in the interview. Yet before she could ask the next question, I talked about what I have gained from my time on social media: connections, networking, and media skills. My mistake became a real selling point!
I wanted to share to let others know that sometimes your mistakes can be blessings in disguise. Have you ever made a mistake like this in an interview before? Were you able to recover?
