I have been in my current position as a Payroll Coordinator for four and a half years. I have over ten years of experience ranging from employee relations, full lifecycle recruiting, benefits, implementation of policies and procedures, professional development/performance management, HR data analytics, event management and Diversity and Inclusion.
In the last two years, I have applied to over 200 positions with no job offers. I have had my resume/cover letter updated professionally three times within the last two years.
Over the last six months, I have taken a certification course, such as Preparing to Manage Human Resource, Recruiting, Hiring and Onboarding employees, Managing Employee Performance and Managing Employees Compensation through University of Minnesota.
I hope that someone can give me some advice or suggestions on what I can do differently. I was working with a local recruiter. She informed me that many companies do not want to take a chance on me because I have been in my current role for nearly five years; they are looking for people currently in a generalist/recruiter role (which is the position I'm hoping to obtain).
Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
