What's with the words cultivation and stewardship?
I spent the better part of my career as a marketer in the for profit sector, the last several years in nonprofit in fundraising, a.k.a. development. Words matter. I would love to see a change in the terminology used in the nonprofit which do nothing more than confuse what they really are. I'm not in agriculture, I nurture relationships not cultivate them. Moves Management...really? It's the buyer's journey, yes donors are buyers, customers, clients. Nonprofit jargon does nothing to break down barriers between the nonprofit and for profit sector, and the need for cross-pollination of skills to bring nonprofits into the 21st century.
