Restructure

My department is being moved in a restructure. We are moving from being a very specific sales area to a broader area that the specific areas roll up too. I was made aware that in an open meeting today an org chart with job responsibilities was shared. I have never seen it. However the org chart shows a drastic reduction of my responsibilities and most of my current responsibilities going to my manager. My manager will be taking on my responsibilities/role, a manager role and two indirect reports. My manager is currently out on FMLA and obviously has no idea about this as our change date was supposed to be 1st of the year. I am flabbergasted it was not discussed and my current report too management just keeps apologizing for how unprofessionally this was handled. I have over 10 years with the company. Their advice was schedule a meeting with the director who presented this and lay out my roles how I have been handling this with my manager on FMLA, what tasks were always mine and what were there's and discuss how this announcement to groups I work with has affected me. What statements should I give when asked questions and is there any room for negotiation on roles now. If so I would love to discuss my perspective from doing the role for over two years. I know the director who put this together didn't discuss this with anyone who has done the role as my manager only stated high level what we did before taking FMLA and no one else in the company does our jobs. Any advice? I really love the industry and up until this restructure fiasco have always loved the company. I am already updating my resume and looking for different roles in the company. While some will say red flag leave I will say I am keeping that option open but I have also seen first hand every company has major hiccups. I want to take this as an opportunity to manage up.
