Two people in my group were recently promoted and they both gossip and make up lies about others. It is petty and shows their insecurities. I am looking for other opportunities because some of the gossip is about me. I regret accepting a position there and had no way to know that this …
My boss is the brother of the owner and VP of HR. About 2 1/2 years ago, I went to my boss, and told him I had had it with one of my assistants (I had two). She was constantly abrasive with our store personnel and even though I had been her supervisor for ten years and covered it on…

As a recruiter, I can tell you that, while there may be some recruiters who engage in mass-mailing LinkedIn-generated messages to a kajillion people, I abhor that strategy. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Many of those messages are also sincere and not mass-produced. In fact, I find many of the best candidates for my hard-to-fill positions by putting in the work of searching through tons of LinkedIn profiles to find the best candidates and reaching out.

Thank you for ethical recruiting. I have also gotten multiple LinkedIn messages from people (mostly overseas,) and it appears to be a mass mailing to everyone who has updated their profile in the last xxx days. None of the job requirements or experience match my profile or career goals. I am looking for executive non-profit work or academic research, as I just finished a doctorate, so why would I want a WFH insurance selling job at an entry level? I finally quit responding to them unless they sent me multiple messages. Then, I ask them what in my profile indicates I am qualified or interested. After that, they leave me alone. I have only had one or two contacts that would adequately be considered a serious inquiry.
