This question is for those who have been laid off during the pandemic and have gone out looking for a new job. I am very experienced, older (~50) and made a great wage at my previous employment but my role was rather niche. The competition is so tough in the market that I'm going on 6 months without a position. Many jobs I find are for much lower salaries. While we are not financially desperate, I wonder - have any of you taken roles with less salary to get back to work? Or are you holding out for the job with the appropriate pay? I'm more than worth my salary but have no idea how long it will take to get a new job.
