Bcc’ed on an email to my boss about his unprofessional Zoom background
While working from home, my boss consistently appears on video in random, disorganized places in his home. This doesn't bother me for our meetings, but we do have some joint meetings with potential clients. Before these meetings, I've always tried to nudge him in the right direction and mention that I'm making sure my background is professional. Yet he'll show up with clutter or flashy posters in the background, or he'll sit in a spot where he's completely backlit and we can't see him at all.
Recently, my boss' boss bcc'ed me on an email to my boss to say that he needed to have a more professional background on Zoom when meeting with our clients. I asked her if she meant to bcc me, and she said yes as I was on those meetings as well. I feel uncomfortable that she included me behind my boss' back and I'm worried I'm now in the middle of the issue. I feel like he might deserve to know that I was on the email (and feel similarly!), but I also don't want to upset his boss. Any advice?
