I've been analyzing where I would like to move my career path next. I have decided I would like to move from a transaction based role to one where I work more directly with organization management and solve business related HR issues, create policies and procedures, and assist with recruitment. Based on research so far, it appears a target role would be that of HR Business Partner or equivalent title. The issue is that my current role is not really in the HR field, there's no room to move within my current small employer's structure to obtain relevant experience for such a role, and I'm not sure how to best transition to the next step. I'm hesitant to try and volunteer somewhere to obtain beneficial experience as I already work full-time and really do not want to take more time away from my family, especially since the busy season is coming up at my current employer and I will have to work more hours to accomplish all the required tasks.
